A morning run to the shore for Abigail's sake and then it's scrambled eggs and ham. As with each morning of our trip, we start the day with a wonderful cup of coffee using the Lexan French Press we received from Jess and Kyle for Christmas. After a good breakfast we pull the crab pots. Five more keepers. We clean them and put them on ice so we can pack up and head to Spencer Spit. During breakfast we got an "hasta la vista" from Dave and Terri as they headed back to Anacortes through a "froggy" Rosario Straits. After a pleasant trip to Spencer Spit we find an open buoy (it took two tries to tie up due to a bit of wind) and then prepared to drop the crab pots. After they were set we cooked the Shaw Island crabs and then took a dinghy ride to shore to register and pay for the buoy plus a chance to stretch our legs. Back on board it was snacks, reading and napping (a great vacation benefit). Then a gourmet dinner of chili and hot dogs (they were Double D all beef Chicago dogs). As the wind was coming up and the sun was going down it was time for Abigail's trip to shore for the evening. After a bumpy ride back we settled in for cribbage, chocolate and the last of the Pommard. The week ends with a series victory for Lynn of three games to two. Then we secured the squeaky and rocking stove with a dish towel and it's Kindle and sleep time with dreams of our trip home tomorrow. |
